Gov Badaru appoints Buhari as Jigawa informatics institute registrar

                                            Governor Mohammad Badaru of Jigawa State Gov. Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa has approved the appointment of Alhaji Sadisu Buhari, as the new Registrar of the Jigawa Informatics Institute, Kazaure. Alhaji Isma’il Ibrahim, the Spokesman, of the office of the Secretary to Jigawa State Government, made this known in a statement on Wednesday in Dutse. Ibrahim said that the appointment followed the death of the former Registrar, Malam Umar Galadima in October 2017. He added that before his appointment, Buhari was the Director, Special Duties, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Robert Lewandowski Reportedly Rejects Bayern Contract Amid Real Madrid Rumours

Bayern Munich forward  Robert Lewandowski  has reportedly turned down a new contract offer from the club, with  Real Madrid  said to be keen to sign him in the summer.  According to Sky Germany (  Daily Mirror ), tentative talks have already been held between Lewandowski and Los Blancos with a view to a possible switch at the end of the campaign. It's suggested that Madrid's general director, Jose Angel Sanchez, has been given the responsibility of bringing the Poland international to the Santiago Bernabeu. Miguel Delaney  of The Independent reported Madrid have made Lewandowski their main forward target in the summer, as they've conceded a deal to sign Harry Kane from  Tottenham Hotspur  would be too difficult at this juncture. According to Delaney, Madrid president Florentino Perez "has long been a fan of Lewandowski and even directly spoken with the Polish striker in the past." Louis van Gaal has hit out at Jose Mourinho over his treatment of Bastian Schweinsteiger during their time together at Manchester United. The midfielder was brought to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich by Van Gaal in 2015, but after Mourinho replaced the Dutchman a year later Schweinsteiger was frozen out and made to train with the reserves. He returned to the first-team squad to make three substitute appearances before leaving for Chicago Fire. Mourinho later said he had made a mistake in his handling of the German. "Schweinsteiger was older, of course, but not too old,"  Van Gaal told Sport Bild . "Still, his body was not able to keep up with the high demands of Premier League. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, whose recent takes have included that Apple should just build a backdoor into the iPhone because the government  might demand it anyway , is now warning that cryptocurrency is killing people. As noted by  CNBC , during a Reddit  “Ask Me Anything” session  on Tuesday, Gates explained that he thinks cryptocurrency is really bad because it aids and abets people who want to keep their financial transactions hidden from the government. He seemed particularly concerned with whether the blockchain revolution is mostly revolutionizing financial crime, terrorism, and drug dealing, thus killing people “in a fairly direct way”: The main feature of crypto currencies is their anonymity. FG releases names of missing Dapchi girls

The Federal Government has released the names and other details of the  110 girls who are yet to be accounted for, following the attack on  the Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi,  Yobe State, on February 19.  The list was contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by  the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, who had  twice led a Federal Government delegation to Yobe since the tragic  incident occurred. The list, which the minister said was handed over to him by the Yobe State  Government, contains the name, age, and class of each of the 110  students. Out of the 110 missing girls, eight are said to be in JSS1, 17 in JSS2, 12 in JSS3,  40 in SS1, 19 in SS2 and 14 in SS3.  Mohammed said that the girls’ ages range from 11 to  19 years. Kidnap in the palace: Gunmen abduct Akwa Ibom village head

 unknown gunmen on Tuesday kidnapped  Chief Mfon Udoessien,  the village head of Ikot Edet in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom. Udoessien was said to have been abducted from his palace by the assailants after a fierce gun battle with the security agents drafted to provide security in the volatile area. It was learnt that the monarch is a brother-in-law to a former Head of Civil Service in Akwa Ibom. A resident of the area, identified as Eno, told newsmen that the monarch, a retired headmaster and former chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers in the area, might have been abducted following his stance against cultism. According to him, Udoessien has relentlessly been waging war against the activities of gunmen who have kidnapped no fewer than eight people in the village.
